    LordM & Friends Coin Giveaway, September, 2019

    Contest now CLOSED. Winners and shipping status of prizes announced in Post #2.

    20190828_085333.jpg

    Our spokescritter this month is my cat Bean. Bean saw all that Internet fame and fortune Grumpy Cat has gotten, and said, "Hey! I could do that too!" Besides, he looks like Grumpy Cat. Kinda. Sorta. Just a lot less grumpy.

    Hi, everybody, and welcome to the latest monthly giveaway!

    This month there are 12 prize lots given by 12 donors.

    In other words, there will be 12 drawings and each contestant will have 12 chances to win something!

    Your entry post must meet all three of these (easy) requirements to be valid.

    1. Please include the words "entry post" in your initial post to this thread - and only your first post. You may reply to this thread as many times as you like, but if you put the phrase "entry post" into more than one reply, you will disqualify yourself.

    2. In addition to the words "entry post", post something else that is coin-related in some way- whatever you like. (Or generally numismatic in nature- currency, tokens, medals, etc. are fine.) Beginners are welcome- you don't have to know anything about coins.

    3. To expedite the prize allotments at the end of the month, please specify your prize choices, in order of preference. You don't have to list all of the prizes if you don't want to (though that helps), but do please give us at least your first three preferences. (List your first favorite choice, second favorite, third favorite, etc., in order). This speeds up the process at the end of the contest and helps ensure everyone has a better chance at getting a prize they like.

    The fine print:

    • There are no strings attached- no shipping charges or anything.
    • If your lucky number (the permalink number of your entry post) comes up in the drawing at the end of the month, you've won a prize. Drawings are done with the random.org True Random Number Generator.
    • To see how this works and has played out before, look at some of the past monthly giveaways. (I've put an archive of those here.)
    • I will gladly ship prizes outside the USA (or reimburse donor partners for doing so), but if international shipping proves too costly, we do reserve the right to substitute prizes (such as with an electronic PayPal gift, etc).
    • If you are a minor, we're delighted to have you play, but please make sure you have your parents' permission to enter this giveaway, since if you win, we will be required to ask for your mailing address.

    Our kind donor partners this month are:

    @lordmarcovan (yours truly)
    @spirityoda
    @dwhiz
    @AdamsCollection
    @Maxfli
    @Randy Abercrombie
    @Paddy54
    @Thomas Webb
    @nencoin (for Northeast Numismatics)
    @tenbobbit
    @Cheech9712
    @trogdor (for Stacks-Bowers Galleries)

    So many thanks to them for their generosity!

    My newest album courtesy of eBay deals with all Panamanian issues from 1904 to 1968. Should be an exciting album to work on considering most of the silver can be found in foreign junk silver boxes.

    Lord M,

    Your drawings are so exciting!

    I've never won any drawings to date
    so, I am hoping that 12 chances helps turn the tide.

    The donations from you and others,
    are above and beyond!

    Thank you for these opportunities.

    Thanks for the enthusiastic post, and may the random number generator smile upon thee at the end of the month!

    As a matter o' fact, if it lands on this post (#6), you'll win, too. Consider this your extra bonus entry, @CREATIVECRHUNTER. :)

    PS- don't forget to add your prize preferences list. That helps speed things up at the end of the month, and helps ensure folks have a better chance of getting the prizes they like the best.

    I did that intentionally I'm afraid I don't need that many airtight capsules.

    That's fine. Folks are welcome to omit the number of prizes they don't need or aren't interested in.

    (Donors can do that to omit their own prize donations when they enter, too.)

    @Maxfli, the donor of Prize #5, was concerned that that prize might not be for everyone, but I told him not to fret about it. Nobody complains about a freebie, after all, and some folks might find those useful.

    I know several World & Ancients folk who like Air-Tites, and having an assortment on hand might be much handier than ordering them individually.

    I'll bet somebody will want them, but if it turns out nobody does, I'll take 'em, and substitute a prize from my Pick Bin if someone would rather have that.

    Not sure if you noticed or not, but there are presently two Panamanian coins in the Prize #1 Pick Bin list, as it happens.

    Free is even cheaper than cherrypicking junk silver boxes. ;)

    But of course you'd have to win Prize #1 to get one of those free.

    I agree that Panama could be a fun collection. That's a pretty rare Dansco album. I'll bet the "Panama Pill" looks funny in such a tiny hole in the page!

    I agree @lordmarcovan that free is always better. However, prize #1 always seems to be one of the most popular prize choices so I'll stick with junk boxes for the majority of Panamanian silver. Not to mention the last time I was in Jacksonville, Florida Edgewood Coins had a nice pair of Panama pills available for a reasonable price.

    Prize update :
    If you choose prize #7 this prize has a bonus feature! :happy: Each Monday in September there will be a weight in.
    You see once a week I'm going to add something to the bank set box.
    I will weight it post the image and new weight. Simple right ....:confused: todays weight was 133.4 g or if you prefer 4.70 oz.
    Now I betcha you like to know what's going to be added to the box each week right?

    Nope....nada, nothing....no clues just the new weight on the 9,16,23,and 30th.of this month. To find out what's in the mystery bonus one needs to win it.
