The best way to learn is to ask the specialists. 34 years ago when I started collecting errors I found many damaged coins that I thought were errors.. Guess what? There was no internet or CoinTalk back then to help me learn. It took me many years to understand.
Has the type of damage commonly seen in coins run over in gritty parking lots. If you are looking at "pocket change" then anything that doesn't have "smooth" surfaces to the touch is probably just damaged.
Everyone starts somewhere, so you are learning. BTW please post full size photos, not thumbnails and welcome to CT.
I know for a fact that I am the world's leading expert on my own opinions. Anything else not so much.
