Kinda new to the forum, been reading alot of post but not much to mention myself. Decided try CRH not buying boxes of halves but went & got 3 customer wrapped rolls the first time & 2 mwr the second, then I got 5 mwr rolls yesterday. Went to same Wells Fargo branch all 3 times anyways yesterday was my first silver. My 7 yr old boy actually found it in his roll. Going try keep record of my odds. 1 out 200 coins so far.

 

I have searched 200 boxes of halves over the last 6 years. My average has been 1.5 silver coins per box. Certainly not worth the effort if silver is the only goal.

Customer roll averages are better, but CWRs are far more difficult to find.

You won’t believe this. Was bored, felt like doing some roll searching, but banks all closed. Decided to go to laundromat down the street and plug $60 into their change machine. This is the result!

 

Finds from the last 2 weeks:
I got three boxes of dimes (same bank), box of halves, and $50 in nickels.
First 2 boxes had 13 silvers. The last box had three.
This is the first time I got magnetic coins (the foreigns) in rolls in ages. Is it the bank where the coins were dumped that separate the magnetic coins or is it the money services company like brinks and loomis?

The 1941 dime and the 1959 dime are bent

Found one silver and 4 NIFC in the box of halves.

Also found 16 pre-60 nickels.

Going to college soon. Not sure if I can coin roll hunt there.

37 NIFCs - 2002 P&D, 2004 D, 2005 P, 4 2006 D, 2006 P, 2008 D, 2009 D, 2010 P, 2012 P&D, 10 2014 D, 13 2014 P

Box 1: 2 NIFCs

Box 3: 1 Proof (1977 S), 42 NIFCs (majority 2014 P&D)

 

I rarely post my box finds, but this was an interesting box. A lot of damaged coins, and never this many proofs. Looks like someone was experimenting with acid baths for some reason. Produced a few beautifully blue toned 1972’s. When all was said and done:

4 40%ers
13 NIFC (mostly 2010)
3 BU (I keep these now if they’re pre-1988)
16 clad/damaged proofs (71, 72, 74, 76, 82)

 

This week I found a 2019 DDO penny and a 2013 - P DDR Mount Rushmore quarter.

 

Just finished off a box of cents. My biggest wheat find in 7 years of searching - 86 wheats. There were 3 enders. Almost every roll had at least one wheat. Some rolls had 4 or 5. It was insane. I will get pictures tomorrow after I've cataloged them in my notebook.

 

I haven't posted here in a few weeks due to a new job. Finally bought a $100 Loomis box from Wells Fargo and I had my best nickel find ever! Two silver war nickels ('43 P, '44, D), a '39 S key date, and a '55 P key date. Also a boat load of pre '60s including two '42 type 1's, a 2009 (my fourth one ever), and a '95 Canadian nickel. Have a look.

86 wheats (3 enders), 2 canada 1c, 1998 WAM (my 64th)

 

Cool Furryfrog02. Nice finds. I just found out today that my Bank WILL order me sealed boxes of coins. The branch I usually go to said the couldn't, but the other nearby branch said they would whenever I wanted! I was so excited, I bought a box of pennies they had in stock! LOL! now for a long night searching them.
SIDE NOTE: If the boxes of quarters are as skunky as the 12 rolls I bought from them today I won't be as excited! I also bought 12 rolls of CWR of halfs from them today.......every single one of them was a Bicentenial Half dollar. Somebody dumped a S***load of them on rhem (and me!) !

 

Picked up $500 in quarters after work today. Was a mix of CWR and MWR. Found 2 silver quarters in the CWR and 1 in the MWR!
1940, 1962D, 1964D

 

1st box of halves this week: 1 x 1967.
2nd box: 1 x 1936-D Walker (hole filler in my Dansco album). Here’s the Walker, pretty worn but only 4.2 million minted.

Ah crap, I meant to post the 3 silver quarters I found yesterday in $500 mixed MWR/CWR. 2 in CWR and 1 in MWR.

 

I was wondering......
