It's more about the lighting I think than the camera. I use my iphone6 and have had some decent success. What are you trying to take pictures of? Close ups? Whole coin? I took this with my iphone outside in the backyard with just the natural lighting.
If you want to take photos of possible errors, you're going to need a copy stand or tripod to stabilize the camera when you take the photos. Otherwise, when you crop out the unnecessary background and resize the image, you're liable to have a blurry enlargement. Chris
I'm figuring out that direct light is not good at all. Aside from natural light, how are you diffusing the light? I cut trees down for a living, I don't want to go back in the sun after being in it all day running a chainsaw
@Islander80-83 what kind of pictures have you got with that microscope? I bought a cheap chinese-made piece of garbage a few years ago. It worked with helping me ID stuff but the pictures were garbage.
All the pictures I've posted on the forum were taken with this Digital Microscope. If Zach says it's okay, I'll post some here. If you search my profile/activity posts you'll see plenty.
Quite sufficient. If you don't have a set of extension tubes or a bellows, your closeups might be limited. Check ebay for sets of automatic extension tubes. Jim
