Can someone tell me; for future reference, why my coins are this color and if they are valuable.

It's considered normal Environmental Toning

Damaged. Only face value.

 

thank you..But can you tell me how it may have been damaged

 

Chemical staining to the clad and copper plating.
Could be as simple as tbey were in a cars cup holder then coffee and soda spilled on them.
Environmental damage means exposure to the elements.
Here are some I found metal detecting -

 

They have been toned by the environment and they are only worth face value.
