If you ever listen to podcasts and are into ancient coins, I highly recommend listening to some of Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcasts on some of the ancient civilizations. He is good at telling the stories while keeping them interesting and captivating. I've recently been listening to his "Kings of Kings" series for a 2nd time which is about the rise of the Achaemenid Persian empire. I think he does a really good job in relating the story and making it interesting. He also has one on the Punic Wars, the fall of the roman republic, and on the rise of the Mongolians starting with chingiz Khan. Has anyone else ever listened to these?
Yup. Great stuff. I hadn't listened to a podcast ever before November of last year. I started with his WWI "Blueprint for Armageddon". I then listened to everything I could find by him. Moved on to The History of Rome and once I finished that, fired up The History of Byzantium. I am now working my way through that series. Dan Carlin is a gateway drug haha.
I've listened to alot of his content. Started with the free material and then bought some of the content. It's very addicting and good.
George Carlin? I liked his 'Schtick' when he was younger. Oh dear........I'll go stand in the corner.
If you are into Celtic coins I recommend episode 60, _The Celtic Holocaust_. It's good and I learned quite a bit from about the Romans as well.
Just as good as those History of Rome and History of Byzantium podcasts, but with a different host...the History of China podcast https://thehistoryofchina.wordpress.com/
Yep, just finished up the Punic Nightmare series while on vacation just over a week ago. Then started the Death Throes of the Republic. Great stuff! Also been listening to The History of Rome.
