    LordM & Friends Coin Giveaway, August, 2019

    Contest now CLOSED. Winners announced in Post #187.

    [IMG]

    Hi, everybody, and welcome to the latest monthly giveaway!

    This month there are 12 prize lots given by 9 donors.

    In other words, there will be 12 drawings and each contestant will have 12 chances to win something!

    My fine donor partners this month are:

    @spirityoda
    @Circus
    Anonymous (alias "Hyppolita")
    @Paddy54
    @Kasia
    @tibor
    @trogdor
    Stacks-Bowers Galleries

    So many thanks to them for their generosity!

    To enter:

    1. Please include the words "entry post" in your initial post to this thread - and only your first post. You may reply to this thread as many times as you like, but if you put the phrase "entry post" into more than one reply, you will disqualify yourself.

    2. In addition to the words "entry post", post something else that is coin-related in some way- whatever you like.

    3. To expedite the prize allotments at the end of the month, please specify your prize choices, in order of preference. (List your first favorite choice, second favorite, third favorite, etc., in order.) The first winner drawn will get his or her first pick, and then the next winner will get his or her first pick from the remaining prizes, and so on.

    (*This month: since there are so many prizes, you don't have to list all twelve in your order of preference, though that would be helpful. If you'd rather just list your first three or four favorites, that would be sufficient.)

    The fine print:
    • There are no strings attached- no shipping charges or anything.
    • If your lucky number (the permalink number of your entry post) comes up in the drawing at the end of the month, you've won a prize. Drawings are done with the random.org True Random Number Generator.
    • To see how this works and has played out before, look at some of the past monthly giveaways. (I've put an archive of those here.)
    • I will gladly ship prizes outside the USA (or reimburse donor partners for doing so), but if international shipping proves too costly, I do reserve the right to substitute prizes (such as with an electronic PayPal gift, etc).
    • If you are a minor, we're delighted to have you play, but please make sure you have your parents' permission to enter this giveaway, since if you win, we will be required to ask for your mailing address.

    (Prize #1 is a "pick your own" option, so it has its own subcategory.)

    Have fun! :)

    Please prepick your prize selections, in the order you would prefer them.

    If not all 12, then at least give us your first 3-5 choices in order.

    @ewomack- yes, I can imagine it would be hard to choose. Thanks for giving me a starting point, though. Makes it easier after the drawings. You're welcome to change your choice at the end, if you desire (based on what's available).

    @cwart- thanks for giving the full list of preferences. Nice little Greek cow. I had one of those once.

    Although many numismatists maintain a disciplined approach to what they collect. I prefer a broad approach pertaining to many ranges of numismatic interest, specifically world coins. However, I recently acquired my first Thaler of one of the many German States off of eBay. Furthermore, I also acquired a small Prussian 1/24 Thaler and, an 8 Schilling piece from Hanseatic City of Lubeck from a local coin dealer. I'll post pictures of the other pieces later after

    This is my official ENTRY POST !!
    My picks are #1, #9, #5, #8, #10, #7, #12, #11, #2, #3, #4, #6.

    I'm waiting on the mail for a bracelet made of Mexican 1 Centavo coins dated 1938 thru 1949.

    My granddaughter loves to dance. I want her to "jingle" as she does.

    I'm also collecting holed silver coins to make her mother and Aunt one.

    I could never put a hole in a coin myself, so by buying coins already holed, I can feel "innocent" of doing a dirty deed.

    Thanks to you, LM, for runnin' the show and Thanks to all of the donators and your generosity, without which there could not be a contest.

    Hmmmm.... Maybe I should swap my order on 10 and 1. :)
    Either way, it's just fun to enter these and IF I happen to get drawn, I will be happy and grateful for any prize presented. The donors have put up some amazing prizes.

    Entry Post!

    Mostly because I'm really, really interested in Prize #12, RIP.

    Coin related entry: I had the pleasure of viewing many of the highlights of the Pogue collection when they were on display at FUN. They had those awful gold foil labels, but the coins themselves were spectacular!
