Rare?? There's about 10-15 selling every minute on ebay. There's 14 to 16 thousand of them listed on ebay every day. The other night I bought a pair of them off ebay. 1883-O and an 1885-O in the same auction. Both NGC graded MS-63s. I got the pair for 83.00. They book at 50.00 a piece. There's deals to be had with a little patience and luck.
If you don't want to drive far and don't want to take a chance with Ebay, take a look at www.alaskacoinexchange.com. They have a large selection of morgans that you can purchase online with confidence that they are not counterfeit. The site has good photos of almost every coin they sell.
if you get a chance, please go to your local coin club (should you have one in your area). there are many grades vf and lower which can be had for close to melt value. please study first or buy from a reputable dealer or individual you can trust before purchasing. if just purchasing a couple at $20 or less , even if not "slabbed", you are not risking much due to melt value. still best to avoid damaged and severely cleaned coins, ect....best wishes...steve
i want to buy this morgan and i want your oppinons on it. how much do you think its worth. it costs $21.00, do you think that right? sorry its small but i had trouble.

Well, it's no bargain but it's not a bad deal. $2 S/H is very reasonable. You would spend more than that just for gas driving 5 miles each way to a dealer.
$2.00 shipping is definitely better than driving around for 1 hour have you looked to see if this is the cheapest you can find and furthermore do you actually like this coin are you just buying it because its cheap.
its not the cheapest i'v sen. 17.50 was the cheapest i saw but that was for a like an f-12. the 21.00 is for an au, so i went for the best looking. reason for buying: i have always wanted to find a morgan but the prices were so big that i waited for a small price.
thats not what iasked. i asked if you liked the coin. if you like the coins buy it if you dont pass thats my 2 cents
My local coin shop has a big bucket of Morgans that are not high end. Basically anthing that they consider Fine or less. There might be some that would be borderline XF, but usually they would have been cleaned or damaged. They sell them just below melt - anywhere between $13-15. This is where I bought some of my first Morgans. If condition is not a concern then maybe I can help. Just PM me if interested. Joe
"i have always wanted to find a morgan" that means i like the coin. its the one coin that i have been wanting the longest. so yes. . . i love it
