When I first saw it I thought the finger print makes it AU at best.

 

Yes, I think both of them have finger prints.

How can I kill it when I'm getting told it wont go over silver value. And the sub-sonic bath is just gonna break up dirt off of it. It wont lift John Dillingers blood

 

The proof items are an exception, though, and I guess they really aren't bullion since the mint is aiming them at the collector market per se.

Earlier in the day MCM sent out an email to its subscriber list that offered several varieties of the new S marked ASE with some surpassing $100. Meanwhile, you can buy the latest one right from the Gov for $55.xx plus shipping.

In my opinion...I wouldn't slab either for the reasons mentioned already. Now, if you had a VERY NICE frosty 1996 silver Eagle, then perhaps.
