The pics came out a little lighter than the coin and the coin is not as spotted as the pics make it appear. I think it is a pleasing R/B coin. My question is do you think it will make 64?
Too brite...64BR? Possibly, but too hard to see it... Good question, how do the TPG's take woodgrain into consideration? All mine are designated RB
I have found that the woodies tend to grade lower in my opinion. This coin picture looks overexposed. If it isn't then the coin has been cleane. Just my 2 cents so to speak. Tom
I think somebody may have over-dipped that one. Look inside the 0 and 9 of the date, and inside the O in OF - looks like dip residue does. Then look at the end of the right side wheat ear - see the larger brown spot, looks exactly like what a brown Lincoln looks like. Could be wrong, but I think what you are seeing isn't wood grain, but left over toning that wasn't removed.
I'm not sure if it will, but a bit tough to tell by the pics. I hope it's not dipped, but it might be. I think I see what GD is talking about, what do you see in hand? A very nice coin though none the less! :thumb: Phoenix
I usually have the opposite problem - my pics are too dark and I have to lighten them. I was surprised how much difference the background makes. These pics I did lighten - set the background to white. It is on an NGC slab.
In hand, both the 9 and the OF look absolutely normal. The 0 in the date maybe - if I catch just the right angle.
Nice pics there, I think it might have a chance at a 64. :thumb: Who are you going to send it to if you don't mind me asking? Phoenix
I probably won't send that one to anyone. 10-S is probably not quite worth it - 63 is definitely not worth it..
