Flowing hair chain cent though I’ll never own one. Some would say it is ugly. Something about the archaic bust of Lady Liberty that screams the birth of a great nation to me.
I like all of them but my favorite of them all is the Draped Bust (1796-1807) design. To me these always appear to be sharply struck as compared to the other designs.
I like the Type 1 Draped Bust cents the best. But there are some 1794 cents that have extremely fine hair engraving on the die that are absolutely gorgeous.
This is my favorite, because the Chains were first, and they are the only obverses that were completely, individually hand engraved. History and artistry.
My favorite is a 1793 Flowing Hair Chain America, Periods Cent (Sheldon 4), for which I traded a tub of Mint and Proof sets and type coins such as Bust Quarters, Halves, and Dollars plus cash from the LCS in the early 90’s. I wanted that coin!
Definitely 1794 Liberty Caps! I have a special admiration for them, have had it since I was a kid! Draped busts as well
