Is this considered a missing clad layer? I have not weighed it, my brother has my scale right now. It also has what looks like a "2" in the middle of it
If the clad layer was missing, a bright copper layer would be on one side. Here is a partial so you can see the difference. Also if you weigh the coin and it weighs a normal amount, there's nothing missing.
There's no clad on the reeding to fall off. The clad coins are a sandwich. The outer layers are a copper and nickel alloy and that creates the silvery looking metal. The inner core is copper. It's solid. So if you remove the outside metal you are left with a copper core.
