Two tokens from LNA(Louisiana Numismatic Association) conventions 1966&1973. One from new Orleans carnival 1982
Your first New Orleans medal has those raised lines on the fields that @Jwt708 and I were wandering about in a another post. Do you have any ideas why they do that to medals?
Here just a few of the sizes and shapes that are available, Work in dremel, fodham and any rotary type tools somebody that is skilled in there use can create the style patina,
Well, Louisiana story is (take with Little salt, peoples here love fairytales), in that time notorious New Orleans gangster Knet 'Frenchy' Brouillette was also numismatic association member, was complain on medal plain look. So he gave his tokens to Samuel Davis, owner of jewerly store in Bourbon street to "redesign " medals. This is how that tokens get new look. In '90s Frenchie lost his money in Las Vegas casinos, and couple years ago he was murdered in New Qrleans in powerty and almost nobody remember him. Part of tokens and coins I buy for some of them relatives, like that token or couple Las Vegas tokens. Maybe is not valuable but they have nice background story
I'm not really sure what this is. It was sold as a silver "token," from France. Obverse is Louis XVI, Reverse has a cross and some Latin about what I'm guessing is a clerical convention in Paris, 1785. Ever seen anything similar I could look up?
