We need an expert (not I) to jump in here and comment on what appears to be a plated shekel of Tyre from the Jerusalem mint with a chi-rho in the field. I am very suspicious due to the symbol but making modern fake fourrees is not a common practice. The coin is too early to even suggest the Christian symbol was used as a reference to Christ. Are these known solid? Who here knows the series?
@dougsmit: could the darker parts of the coins also be horn silver? The pictures are not of very high resolution, but when zoomed in, it appears to be on top of the coin. Maybe @Bekircandemir could give some info on the origin of the coin?
I'il go again tomorrow I'm gonna do some research with the detector. I'll record it with the camera before removing it. there is a mound in the area where I found the money.
Looking again I can see the dirt could be on top making the good style more believable than were it plated. NE is year 55 (72/1BC?).
You don't understand anything. you talk idly. I owe you a lie. ? did not want to clean the original dirt on it. ok please empty speech
Whereas these Shekels were struck in Jerusalem, indicated by the letters KP, therefore from 21-18 BC, if the date is really NE = 55 (72-71 BC), as Doug explains above, that would be even stranger and more suspicious.
tomorrow I'll do research with the detector again. I think there's more in the same place.? i will look tomorrow. friends What is your selling price?
