I've had an offer to purchase my coin but have no idea what it's value is. The proposed buyer did not give a price, just an offer to buy it if I wanted to sell it. Any ideas?
Is that a seam on the inside reverse rim? The obverse looks bulged out. Someone just did a post with a Kennedy Half two piece coin.
That was me alurid. @Mountain Man - Weigh and compare your coin to a normal copper cent (3.1 grams). Drop the coin on your counter several times and see if it sounds funny. Finally, I had to put my Kennedy "Magician Coin" in a glass jar, screwed on the lid, and shake it hard and the coin separated.
You are absolutely correct and I apologize. I was looking at the edge of the coin, not near the edge and upon taking a better photo, it is obvious it has been doctored. Thank you for saving me from looking bad to a buyer. I have now labeled it a novelty coin and fake and let the prospective interested party know that it turned out to be a fake. I have never sold any of my collection and hope I would never make this mistake again if I do. My eye sight just isn't what it used to be and I'm thankful my friends at CT are here to keep me honest and educated.
