Well, it ain’t the $2 nor $5 Canadian I intended but...

Made a stop in my favourite buying bank on my way home today to pick up my usual load of Nickel rolls when a mini stack of notes/bills caught my eye.

It ain’t as crisp nor as old as my first $1, 1973 Canadian bill but, it looked to be one of the better ones the teller rifled through before my eyes.

I know next to nothing about bills/bank notes other than, I only have the one other I mentioned that I’m saving. I paid $1.30 cad for this 2013 series note... is it more proper to call them, bank notes as opposed to bills?

Anyways, just sharing my loot and I kinda fancy the serial number too.

Of course most will think that because you’ve lost the thrill of being a young/new collector. It’s okay, you don’t need to bother with the likes of a stupid nobody Canadian like me who makes rookie mistakes and wastes his time collecting anything American! Don’t you worry now hun, I’ll send all my crappy American everything back to your precious little country. Thanks for playing... you take care now!

It is fun when a foreign banknote can be found in circulation, in this case an American dollar in Canada. I found, many years ago, a Canadian $1 note, even a Canadian $10 note. Another time I happened to find a Bahamian $1 note. Its always fun!

I have some 1970s Canadian bills and many older coins.
I like the colors and designs.
I also set aside all the pennies when I was a kid. I really liked the bicentennial cent.

They are called bank notes (at least by me and lots of others). I did not miss that you were in Canada. I think it is fun to find Canadian currency here in Oregon, I do not know how common it is for U.S. currency to be in circulation in the Great White North. The fact that you found paper money is interesting, here I get coinage. Do not be discouraged by naysayers, every little oddity of coinage or currency I get back in change brightens my day a little.

$1 USD = 1.31 CAD as of this posting.

So the original poster paid 1 Canadian Cent under exchange value...I see no loss here. :)
