That Carson City will never happen. The mint is now the State of Nevada Museum and I highly doubt they would let anyone fire up the old Press Number 1. This sounds more like a project for Dan Carr. I'd buy then. If the US mint does is it going to be like The Old San Francisco Mint coin?

There's been a lot of discussion of this here. Lots of varying reactions.

This article claims a modern press would be brought in to mint the Nevada coins (likely BU in Carson City* and proofs in San Francisco). There's a precedent for this, as some 1989 Congressional commemoratives were struck in Washington, D.C.

*Striking BU CC dollars is clever because it would boost the usually lackluster sales of the BU strikes. The mint's marketing department is really working overtime.

Not really interested in a purchase, myself.

Surcharges would go to the ANA, Nevada Museum, and WWI Museum.

Okay LakeEffect, thanks for the information. However, I would like to hear what the US Mint says. And this all depends on the passage of the GAIN Act. I would not hold my breath on that one. I see this as another Old Mint dollar.

Me too, but it would not be a Mike Mezack first day of issue MS69 special for $195 plus shipping.

Agreed, it's just House Bill 3757 at this point, so it's all speculation until a law is passed. (I'm not familiar with the GAIN Act or what it has to do with coins)

[Edit] Never mind, I see the GAIN act was Bill 3757 in a previous Congress - not related to this Bill

"Collectors could be getting a 2021-CC Morgan dollar. House Bill 3757 was introduced July 16 to authorize production of Morgan and Peace silver dollars to mark the centennial anniversary of the production transition between the two designs in 1921 — including Morgan dollars struck at the former Carson City Mint and a high relief Peace dollar."

This is an attachment to HR 3757 aka The GAIN Act:
Grow American Incomes Now Act of 2017 or the GAIN Act

This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code, with respect to the earned income tax credit (EITC), to: (1) increase specified credit and phaseout percentages, (2) increase the earned income amounts and the phase out amounts, (3) decrease from 25 to 21 the minimum eligibility age for individuals without qualifying children, and (4) allow employees to elect to receive advance payments of the EITC from employers when wages are paid.

So, I don't have much faith in it being passed. If it does pass maybe 2 years.

Sounds like another gimmick for the Mint to make some more money. Oops, I mean profit.

Lets all "sit tight" and see what comes about in 2021. Why get in a froth about a possible/maybe future event 2-3 years out?

I won't be adding one to my collection I only have the 1878 error coins , too many varieties to get excited about the Morgan Dollar plus Investors have driven the price up and they don't even care about numismatics or the history of coins just another investment for a portfolio .

No, it's not - that was the 115th Congress not 116th...

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/3757

It was introduced and refered to committee. It's also bogus - 10 days later and there is still no text of the bill!

Not a chance! If the goal is to sell coins and fuel the hobby this is a bust. Try creating something new, that’s worth collecting. Take a pattern or Golbrect dollar from the late 1700 or early 1800’s

Who is running the show? Pants pulled up over the belly button are a thing of the past. So is the Peace and Morgan $
