not sure if its an error coin

    looks like the crack goes thru to the back of the coin

    No mint errors are present on your coin.

    Thank You I have never seen a penny like this that is actually cracked . Thinking maybe the planchet was defective . Still learning over here

    Looks like a common worn die strike. It will deform the struck blank planchet.

    Thank You paddyman . so a die strike can cause a crack like the one seen in my first picture ?

    It's really not a crack but a ridge that is formed do to a deteriorated die.
