I like to know if I were to send in these Proof Cent to PCGS or NGC would they take them cents out for you or do I have to take them out before sending them to them ??? The reason of sending these Cent in is because them toning. Looks better than what took the pic from the PC .
I don't like the toning.. looks like they were kept in a bad environment. Not worth sending in. I believe you need to remove them out of the packaging.
When I enlarged your photos they appeared a bit blurry. If it's possible could you post a close up photo of each coin taken in natural light. I'd really appreciate seeing a clearer look at the toning. Thank you.
They are copper, rather than copper plated zinc, the mint holder is not air tight, you should put them in airtite capsules. If your considering paying for Slabs, consider their value (not that much), and what you can buy them for slabbed already. you can find them toned already with some patience.
I feel that just the holder helped tone the coins. Now telling what the coins will look like, 20 years down the road.
Yeah I know what you talking about. But it is a bad pic. I will see if I can get a better picture once I get a chance. I do like them toning in real life . Again them pictures are bad .
Very expensive to send them in. I don't see the point. What are they worth, a couple of dollars or so each?
Thanks for the photos and thread. These cents are known to tone very quickly. Whether or not it is the packaging or the composition. Could be heat but that is the least likely answer. Most of these cents have some form of toning on them.
When i sent my 2009 proof Jefferson nickel in to the ANACS to have the clashed die authenticated I removed it from the mint holder first. The nickel was also incapsulated inside the mint package in clear plastic. I did not remove this inner seal, but sent it to the ANA and let them figure it out. I did'nt want any chance of it being touched. I think the ANA told me to remove it and thats why I did it.
You can send them in, in the plastic holder and the grading company, PCGS or NGC will charge you for removing them for grading. That said, you'll likely spend more to have them graded then they would be worth.
