My guess is for luster. I don't find the toning even remotely attractive.

Some toners are subtle and need to be seen in hand to be appreciated. The obverse isn't ugly, it is just too light to really garner much of a premium IMHO, and I am surprised by the star. My original comments were directed more towards the reverse which I find to be distracting. The reverse isn't horrible per se and wouldn't trade at a discount, but I find nothing remotely appealing about it.

 

We have a winner, I bought the coin from Heritage for $176 and sold it for $250.

Actually I find the reverse of this coin to be rather ugly, but the obverse is amazing. The oversized photo doesn't really do the coin justice. The slab photo shows the power of the lime green toning and amazing luster in combination than the closeup photo.

 

I would have guessed higher had I seen that photo.
