You can sort of see the L as if it was there in certain angles of the light. Only a dot remains at the bottom of the letter on the right. My question is, if this is worth anything, if so a ball park figure? And how, where can I sell it??? Also Im not sure may someone could tell me. Dose it look as if there is another letter " T " right under the first " T " in " TRUST " ???
That is kind of a neat coin to add to a collection , however I agree with the other member it is only worth 1 cent . it looks like there is a big L stuck on top of Lincolns head . It is just the way his hair looks . Welcome to Coin Talk it is always good to get some of the members here to give their expert opinions . Keep on hunting . Dillan
When grease from the machinery gets on the dies, it can fill in part of the letters and they look like they are missing. It is called a grease filled die or simply a filled die.
The Die was filled with grease or other debris so most of the L failed to get on the planchet. Very common and only worth face. Welcome to CT.
