I am having difficulty finding online price lists to value a few foreign coins I have: Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Japan, Luxembourg, South Africa, and Spain. Do such lists exist?

Like TheGame said — eBay sold listings. If you have only a few foreign coins as you said, it won't take long and it's the best way to establish an accurate price range.

I personally find price discovery to be difficult yet a rewarding sleuthing activity. GDJMSP is quite correct with the suggestions of coinarchives and acsearch. Acsearch used to be free. However there is a way around at least acsearch. ACSEARCH lists the auction and date for a particular or a similar coin you want to check out. Go to that particular auction archive (i.e. Canada or Japan) to work out what was paid. Heritage is also a good place to check out bids. Remember that the bids are "all-in" which means the price includes the Buyer's Premium which can be anywhere between 0% such as Davisson's or 17% + as in Heritage, AW World, etc. I collect Canada, Ireland, Portugal, Japan and anything to do with New World discovery (Brazil).
If you live near a larger library which has a decent collectibles section, check out to see if they have any of the Krause world catalogs. They might even do an intra library loan from another library.
Dunno, been years since I looked. Click on the links, it'll tell ya. And yes ! If it was me, I'd get both as each has advantages and disadvantages over the other. And I never was fond of doing things half way. I mean, compared to the cost of the coins I used to collect, what I'd have to pay for such a service is so little as to not even matter. What you'd save on 1 coin would pay for the service for years ! But, if I could only choose one, I'd choose the one that best suited my personal collecting habits. And ya might have to look at things a bit to figure that out.
Ok, that wasn't helpful or answer my question at all. Anyone who can provide some actual useful information on these sites care to share? What are the advantages of each? Without having to pay for it and use it to figure out, can someone who uses these sites share some actual information about each of them?
That's just it, ya don't have to pay for it to figure it out. The only thing paying for it allows you to do that you can't do for free is see the realized auction prices. And knowing what the realized price is doesn't tell you anything about the site itself. All ya have to do is use the site a bit to see what the advantages and disadvantages of each are. Basically it boils down to being able to find specific coins on one and not being able to find them on the other.
