Meow has found a 1988d penny CRH today that does not look like any penny Meow has found before. Meow must have CRH well over 1000 rolls of pennies and this is unique for whatever reason. It is brand new penny shiny, yet has a very odd finish to it. I little similar to zinc lumps, but just does not look like the typical zinc lump penny. It is crazy shiny. Meow does not know what to make of it.

But if did, it would look more like regular rot. This penny is shiny, proof like shiny.

Meow thinks something like that too. But thought the copper is so thin that anything that reacts to the copper will destroy it. Like how heated penny's turn grey. This looks like rot, but Meow has not seen a rotten looking penny be so darn shiny.

It hasn't circulated a lot and the toning has been affected by whatever it has come in contact with.

    Tuck it
Tuck it away for another day. That's what I do.

It is weird. I would put it in a flip and take it out every so often and admire it.

There is way too much light on the coin to tell anything about it.
Shiny surfaces is one thing but none of us can tell if it has been cleaned or polished. Etc

The grainy texture in the photos certainly looks as though the penny spent some time in vinegar for cleaning.

I believe that it may be an annealing error causing the tiny tiny little bubbling mei thinks. Wouldn't it be termed as an oculated gas bubble /lamination error, I have found many and I don't think there is any value in the coin. IMHO

1000 rolls is not many at all. Thats $500 worth of cents, I have been known to do that in a week during winter. 6K FV coppers saved to date.

Political theme ? Why so selective ? When negative things were said about Harriet Tubman, here, it was met by thunderous silence by Moderators. My politics, on Coin Talk, has been relatively mild. But I refrain from further examples that do exist. I expect my points have been reaching for the skies.

Good for you, Amos 811, for leaving aside your firm beliefs while on this forum. I hope that doesn't make you feel too lonely.

There is always someone who feels they should be allowed to break the rules. But hey, the points add up and one day these folks will be gone

Points or no points, we will all be gone one day, and you're no exception - the time will come when you won't be pickin and grinin any longer. People may say about you that he stuck to the rules like a fly to glue. Anything else ? Maybe not.
