1898 Indian Head Penny Error?

    Hi guys, I'm a new collector and new member here and I'm seeking expert advice on the following penny and trying to figure out what may have caused the damage.

    Lord know what happened to this coin in its 121 years of life. All I can tell you is that it didn't come from the mint like that. It was damaged afterwards.

    DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged.. Are you betting with someone about how it occurred? The person who did it probably passed away decades ago! :dead:

    I think Annie Oakley hit it with bird shot after someone threw it up in the air for her.

    No im jus trying to figure all this out cuz i got ab ok bout 12 indian head pennies and a 1943 steel penny and a fake replica of a rinan coin from a garage sale and the guy was all like all these coins are worth so much and im giving em to you for 20 bucks
