Been wondering if this shows signs of being a double die stamp. Best pics I could get. Any input appreciated.
Not seeing anything. Perhaps you can point out where and what you think you see. If anything, I think it is the way the light is hitting your coin.
I don't see it. Not at all, not even close. If you think you are seeing something, maybe try taking some different pictures with different lighting and angles to highlight what you think you are seeing? I'll also mention... with the mint's modern single squeeze hub, it is theoretically impossible to have hub doubling that far from the center. Any hub doubling will be "slip doubling" and will occur on design elements close to the center, such as the ear or hair details.
I guess there really is an exception to every rule. This is *highly* improbable, and as you can see from the pictures linked is *extremely minor*, even if technically doubled. I see no evidence of this from the pictures posted by the OP, and maintain that it probably isn't the case here. I must say, however, great recall on that one. Maybe a little catnip? Eh, who can say. Well done on the memory.
The OPs picture are not very good for a comparison, but Meow agrees that it is unlikely to be DD. Just wanted to show that it still seems to be possible, even in the ATB series.
it's the reflection of the lite I use to think the same thing when I first started taking pics ,adjust your lighting & take pics from directly above!
