copper/brass 1982 cents weigh 3.11 grams whereas the zinc cents come in at just 2.5 grams, you scale is off. you don't need to keep posting new threads, look up 1982 Lincoln cents , your coins are worth 1 cent. there are 7 common varieties.

good luck. Im not giving advise, you have 2 coins one is copper, one is zinc, if you put them together nobody would give you a cent for them both.

Read it and you'll learn that Lincoln cents minted in Philadelphia have no mint mark. The exception being 1917
Hello, this is Meow. Meow has been CRH for about a year and a half. Meow has learned quite a bit about the hobby from other members here. And yes, there are some that have no patience for newbies. And some newbies that don't have enough patience to listen what the more experienced members have to say. Meow thinks it not the way to go by coming here and call other members dumb. Even Meow knows what to look for in 82' pennies. You do not seem to know, so take this time to learn. This is what Meow knows: The 1982, and 1982 d penny was made out of both copper and zinc planchets. Both the pennies also have a variation in the date. One is called small date, and one is called large date. A circulated copper 1982 S/D or L/D has no collectable value. A circulated zinc 1982 S/D or L/D has no collectable value. A copper or zinc 1982d L/D also has no collectable value. BUT...……. A copper 1982d S/D has tremendous value. As Meow thinks only 1 or 2 examples have been ever found of that penny. Meow read it sold for $18,000 at auction. Oh, and Meow distinguishes S/D and L/D by the 2 in the date. L/D has an ugly 2, and S/D has a pretty 2. And to further clarify, a copper penny weighs about 3.1 grams give or take a few tenths a gram. A zinc penny weighs about 2.5 grams, give or take. So if a 1982d penny has a pretty 2, and weighs about 3.1 grams; You have a winner there. But the odds of finding one are quite slim.
