Off center strikes still elude.

Hello all. Meow did some CRH with quarters today. Nothing of note, just found a slightly off center Saratoga d. Meow has yet to find a notable off center coin yet. Meow just recently found this cat's first clipped coin after about a year and a half CRH. Found a cud, rpm and such, but no good off centers. So are they the most difficult error to find CRH? Or is Meow just unlucky with this particular error? WIN_20190717_21_59_21_Pro.jpg

If you are looking for True Off-Center mint error you going to have a tough time finding one. They are wider than a normal strike and would not really fit into a roll that well. In Customer wrapped rolls I'm sure the people doing them would see the Off-Center and keep them. You're better off purchasing one over at ebay. They are cheap.. $3.00 - $10.00 depending on the denomination. Would save you a lot of time!

I Would say yes.. The Die can only get misaligned just a bit. It's being held in place by the 3rd die.. The retaining collar.

But that would take the H out of CRH would it not? So anyway, how are they found to begin with? Mint bags at the bank maybe?

I have only managed to find 2 off-center coins in all my CRH searches, and Lord knows I've searched a ton...

    OK then..

There are Off Center strikes that would fit into a roll. I don't think that it's totally impossible... So continue and enjoy the hunt!
