it It is 8:40 Wednesday morning the 17th and I'm on my half hour break for lunch at work and I just got this in change at the grocery store where I cashed my check my check. I'll work on pictures.

It's called a 1971 US Cent with a D, for Denver mint mark.
They made them in 1971.

The 9 took a hit or something. The green stuff is corrosion.

It may be my eyes but I kind of see a "3" where the "S" should be in the word TRUST...just saying....or it could be nothing at all. Just my two cents.

 

You're seeing it but that is caused by the corrosion. It's an S if you look closely.

 

Yeah I figured that was the case...my eyes are getting old and I do believe you are right about the corrosion part...so what is wrong with this cent? Anyone know?

He is a little self conscious about that ,guys. It's a hearing loss thing and it caused him a lot if grief as a child.

 

Sounds like this Kurt was a hell of a member.
