Was in the Mint Set. Owner saw me looking at the set, and asked me, “What do you want for a Christmas bonus?” I returned, “ I want this set.” He asked what it was and I told him a 67 Special Mint Set and he thought about it for about 2 seconds and said, “sure, go ahead!” Here are a couple of pics while it was in it’s native habitat:
Sheesh, the lighting in these pics makes it impossible to give a confident grade. I'll guess somewhere between 65 and 67, and probably CAM. From the pictures presented, it appears to be an attractive coin!
Nah, man. The OP is significantly underlit. It shows "the coin", but not nearly enough to really see the coin. For grading, the second pics are actually better - more light shows the flaws, even if the color is weird.
The first pics were taken outside today. It was overcast and I figured it would work. I wanted to show the contrast and that’s difficult. The raw pictures are really lit to make the depth of the contrast apparent and I think make the coin look better than it is
Photographing this type of coin without a proper setup is incredibly difficult. Certain lighting situations, such as natural light on a cloudy day, are *great* for showing a certain aspect of the coin, such as the cameo contrast. But they don't present a well balanced view of the coin. These types of pictures don't lend themselves well to a GTG, because they are inherently designed to show one aspect of the coin at the detriment of the rest. Good lighting can alleviate this and present the coin in a well balanced light, but that takes the right setup and a certain amount of skill.
