1 - no idea 2 - 3 - 4 - is a thaler from Hungary from the Kremnitz mint. This date, 1693 is listed as a rare coin. You really should have this one authenticated. It may be quite valueable, even with the hole. 5 - 6 - is a Tallero from Venice, 1769. Value about $150 7 - is a peso from the Dominican Republic, 1897. Value about $25. 8 - is a 1 koruna from Czechoslovakia, 1922. Value, maybe 50 cents. 9 - is a 5 marks from Germany, 1925. Value $125 - $140. 10 - is either a wedding medal or a coronation medal for Franz Joseph and Elizabeth of Austria. No idea on value. 11 - is a 2/3 thaler from Anhalt-Bernburg, Germany. Value maybe $90 All of these values are from Krause, they may be higher or lower. The other coins I have left blank are, I believe, all from German States. And German States coinage is not my forte - it could take hours to look them up. Hopefully someone else can answer.
#1 looks a bit like a stater of Mazaeus (385-328 BC), Satrap of Cilicia. However, the writing is all wrong.
Wow thanks soooo much. I really appreciate the time and effort you put in. If anyone wants more detailed pics or any information I would be happy to help. I think I might be over doing it with the pics, but any info like always is appreciated. So I got some interesting news for you about number 4... There's no hole... Haha, my bad camera skills. Its a small, raised point on both sides. I borrowed a better camera, and am taking better pics of number 4. I'll actually post the pics =] And for number 1 I took some interesting photos. Thanks Morgan
Your coin of Leopold I probably had a hole in it and was filled...I would think that still is considered a holed coin If those coins are authentic you have quite a nice little group of coins.
lovely coins! coin nr.2 :germany dutchy of mecklenburg-schwerin 2/3 taler 1808 /in vf about 130 $ coin nr.5 :germany saxony taler 1663 duke johann georg II
I was guessing that someone attached a loop to it for hanging - but that is just a guess. Amazing set of coins!
It could be a plugged hole, it could be solder from a jewelry attchment. Either way the coin would be considered damaged. But given its rarity - who cares. You need to have that coin authenticated. I would suggest NCS.
