Need help identifying old coin

    Recently got gifted a small amount of coins but can not figure out what this one is thinking it is either arabic or persian

    I don't have the answer. Might be Bactrian too or from that area. However, coin was struck without a collar. That usually means it's not modern. Try posing your question on the ancients forum.

    I'd gladly move the post to Ancients but I have no idea if the coin IS an ancient - sure doesn't look like to me. Looks like a much more modern coin. So for the time being I'm just gonna leave it here.

    If and when someone who actually knows, will let me know, then I'll move it.

    Based upon similar identified coins I own, IMO this is no earlier than a 16th or 17th century coin. It would literally take me hours to identify this coin at my level of expertise. Hopefully, someone will chime in with expertise in Arabic coins.
