hi, you also see the S mint moved to the right (B) compared to how regular photo (A) should be. ...and maybe even a little smaller??? Do you find it or is it a normal thing? thank you
It's normal. The mint marks were hand punched into the Obverse Die during that time. You will find it in different locations.
... uhmm, even the L of liberty is different is as if the foot of the L is missing more like an I. Do you also see that something is wrong about liberty ???
It is known as a filled die. This can be found on many coins and is considered a minor error. Since it is common and the filled area is small, it does not add any value to the coin
Many different dies were used to make the 1949-S cent. This created many different looks. It's a normal thing. Nice images.
Copper being very soft flattens with wear, so some increases in size is not uncommon and often is mistaken for certain Doubled dies ( where the size difference is usually only on a few of them), compare with a similar date cent worn to the same degree. Jim
For this time frame the Mint marks were hand punched onto the coin. They vary in location but it's normal.
