Quarter with strange rim

    I am new to collecting, I just opened this roll and this coin fell out.

    I don't think so.. Spooned is more like it.

    Dryer coins have usually very mushy details.
    Either spooned or even ground off.

    I think Mike is right. It looks like it was ground off. If you enlarge the image of the edge, you can see parallel lines running along the edge. This wouldn't happen if it had been spooned.
