Quarter with strange rim

I am new to collecting, I just opened this roll and this coin fell out.
can someone tell me something about it? Thanks

Dryer coin- Google it - it spent time tumbling in a commercial dryer or similar. Bang bang bang on the edge

 

Damage.. Your Quarter was tapped with a spoon or hammer. Not a Mint Error.

 

I don't think so.. Spooned is more like it.

 

Dryer coins have usually very mushy details.
Either spooned or even ground off.

 

I think Mike is right. It looks like it was ground off. If you enlarge the image of the edge, you can see parallel lines running along the edge. This wouldn't happen if it had been spooned.
