The nice front is the bad reverse, the nice reverse is the bad obverse. Salt spat and scratching was supposed to have been administered to coins before the decision of Zinc coinage. A 1981 New York Times article online talks about the exposing of zinc to test it. There is exposed Zinc on both of these recovered together.

So the damage to these coins is actually testing done by the mint? Is that what you're getting at? Are you stating that these are zinc coins? putting them on a scale to determine their weights will give you your answer regarding the metallic composition.

I don’t know.... but in searching to find similarities to what they were, the salt spray seems to be apparent, on the sides the Zinc is exposed. I wouldn’t think it was nice coins with an improper mixture, when both have the same side plating (It must be plating if they knew they could aim effectively at two planchets and uncover Zinc, then) corrosion against Zinc.... that seems an unlikely 100% timely coincidence. I don’t believe coincidences that perfect happen when there is a situation in Zinc strength testing that is going to also look 100% like the same thing.

 

Can you direct us to an example of the salt spray to compare your coins to? What do your coins weigh?

 

Well whatever overhaul or cleaning or next editions they put out seems to have stricken that record.

You know, I like Pete’s house. I try to a keep a good attitude and mature focus. I really don’t know why people here think they run things like it’s their own house.... without bringing anything but some played out recognizable graded manipulations as an anchor. You can tell that’s true because they hiss when actual recoveries (“The Old Style” of numismatics) is shown that perseverance has strength unlike what people here need to be seen so they can keep passing they’re stories off of their usefulness. How does one reach this superior level of hunting errors and varieties? It seems you've obtained (and created) all the numismatic information in the known universe, I guess it's time to move on, maybe you can finally pursue that career in hip hop.
