Me, too, that's a pretty coin. Thanks for reminding me, I need yet another thing to spend money on...

 

Kasia, the show is really just outside of Chicago in Rosemont,IL and except for expressway driving, you won’t really have to deal with driving in the downtown area.

Just food for thought. I’m going to be there at least 1 day... I would love to finally meet you.

I would love to meet up. Maybe I will skip another show this month and head out for Chicago in August.

 

I am thinking this is the one I will go for.

 

I will be there for at least one day and would love to meet you guys. Rosemont is not too bad except parking is expensive and the city is mafia owned. Gibsons is a wonderful place for lunch.

 

I would prefer to be able to meet elsewhere somewhat nearby, where parking is perhaps safer and cheaper, and catch a ride (rideshare to the venue), but that may not be possible. I will have to scope out the possibilities. I know that going to Long Beach could be a zoo at times for parking.

 

The parking is simple and safe in Rosemont. The one thing it’s not is cheap, but it’s walking distance for most people

 

Ok, good to know. Chicago is not a city I've had too much driving in or around... Just a couple times.

 

The convention center where they do the show is right across the street from a HUGE parking garage that’s never completely full and then you can just walk the short distance past Gibson’s to the corner and cross the street. There will be police stopping traffic for pedestrians all day every day of the show.

I’m telling you it’s easy as pie.

 

Sounds good. So unless something untoward happens, I will get there.

 

Made a reservation at a local motel for the night of the 15th (Thurs). From small experience, trying to take in a large show on free entry on Saturday can be weird as many vendors are starting to shut down to get out of there. Also gives me time not to have to drive both ways in one day and try to take it all in.

 

I'm partial to the Dolley Madison as well.

(I think a consensus is building.)

 

Thanks for the thread derailment everyone, I just spent money on a Dolley proof as a result. The wife will not be pleased, and it's all your (collective) fault(s)
