Upon suggestion from the coin roll hunting thread, I am posting this here also. There appears to be a die clash in front of the forehead on the obverse and through the C in Cent on the reverse. Should this be sent out for grading?
Yeah, and if anybody wants to rag on her for posting it in two different forums, you can blame me! What do you IHC specialists think? Is it worth submitting for grading? Which TPG? Chris
What a great find, I can only say, that is possibly the best find, certainly your first really awesome one, I never found something that cool, I would get it encapsulated/ graded for myself, keep it forever. Glad someone who is active here at ct forums was a lucky one.
I admit to nearly wetting my pants! I have been battling depression and this activity has been very beneficial!
*****Note to Kaye make sure you're sitting down .....in the bath room as if what you're saying is true...... this is going to make you.......See below>>>>>>> @Kaye Well Kaye, so here's a little bit of Vitamin P That's "P" for Paddy to help you shed some of those negative vibes..... not only did you find a nice 1891 IHC specimen but you found a "rare one" ......... OH YEAH! And if you go here..... http://www.indiancentvarieties.com/1891_variety006.html You as well as others will be amazed as to your find. 1891 variety #6 this maybe one of less than 5 known So that said congratulations on your find. Paddy
OH MY! My stomach just went through the floor! I think I am in shock! Thanks to all for your assistance and support!
Did you read the details? And do you know that the owner of that site does attributions ? And he is a member here I do believe.
It's a nice clash! Does it match the misplaced date below the first 8? I can't confirm from the images provided. Also the rim breaks should match as well.
Yeah I say......I'm about 100% without coin in hand to id proper.all other pups are spot on....so it is either the variety #6 or.....it's a new discovery as the obv. Clashes would mean it was paired with another rev die. Besides the rev. Of variety #6.
Maybe I don't understand what to look for. My coin doesn't have the two dots at the rim that I see in the link photos.
That is awesome Paddy! Since @Kaye is new here, can you help her through the steps for authentication and grading? Chris
