Rare And Used!!! So what do you guys think. Rare and Used.....lol Im still debating weather or not to break the coins out. They all are 1964 except the frankin in the middle.:hail:
Okay General. Very nice... The next thing you might want to do is check out all those honky tonks and joints that have highly varnished bars with the coins and banknotes embedded in them. Now howya gonna get those home? Us old rockhounds use to make those throne seats from kits. We would put fancy sliced rocks in place of coins. You can do this with seashells and many other items, which I suppose could get quite interesting. jeankay
Oh im pretty sure once I have the time those coins will be coming out. Im just hoping that I dont mess them up. Im thinking either a hammer and screw driver...LOL.....But then again someone did offer me $300.oo for it.... maybe Ill resell it
:thumb: :mouth: :thumb: Lol, nice coins man!? Pretty cool, are you going to put it up at your house, or just hang it on the wall? Phoenix
HOLD THE PHONE!!! That seat is a work of art. Any self respecting coin collector should be proud to be able perch themselves upon it. Why I could just imagine myself on this throne reading the latest copy of Numismatic News. The thought of you destroying this majestic masterpiece to retrieve a few onces of silver is to much to bare. Seriously I don't believe those coins will come out undamaged. Seeing as though they are all 64's except the Franklin it really would be silly to destroy this piece. If you would rather have money and not this seat, put it up for sale. I'm sure there is a collectors out there who would love to have this piece of numismatic bathroom art. All kidding aside I love it. I had a cube with a 1963 proof set inside. I bought it for $20.00 from a fellow collector. It was one of my favorite office pieces, everyone awed over it. Being the compassionate person that I am I sold it back to the original seller, for double the purchase price, when he found he truly regreted selling it the first place, some three years later. If he wasn't a real friend to me I would have had to have had 60-80 for it. Thanks for sharing. Allen
Holy Crap! No pun intended. GG where did you get that!!! I will tell why I am interested. There is a friend of the family here in WV whose husband collected coins. When he passed away, she invited me over to assess the value of the coins they had. She tells me that she needed to show me something and proceeded to take me to the master bath and show me the toilet seat. They had the same thing - can't remember the dates, but all 1964 and later. She said it was made just for them by a friend that owned a plastic molding company. It was made many moons ago and she showed me this about 3 years ago. She has since moved out of the house. I do know she took the seat with her, but I don't know what she did with it. I'm going to have to call her today and find out what she did with it. I can't believe there was more than one made like that. Kinda in shock now. Never thought in a million years I would see that again.
Holy Bat Crap Batman! Does the crapper take Dollar bills or make change? I have seen a lot of things in my day but that one really takes to toliet cake! Frank
