My BEST score of Kennedys EVER! Bank visit yielded 13 rolls of customer-wrapped. 14 1964--AU. Some nice toning! Two BU with a few friction scratches. 28 40%'ers mostly AU. Two rolls of Bicentennial all AU Two rolls of 1972 UNC Two rolls of 1973 UNC The rest back to the wild
Great HOARD! If the Kennedy's are customer wrapped then they are no longer uncirculated. They were circulated then wrapped.
Simply stupefying that the rank-and-file citizenry doesn't appear to know that these are 90% silver. Their ignorance is your gain, Brina.
@Maxfli If you read carfully one other member besides you stated that they are 90% silver! It's the post before yours!
So: Collector buys a bunch of mint sets directly from the Mint in 1964 and squirrels them away. Non-collector inherits them 55 years later. Non-collector cuts them out of the mint sets, puts them in rolls, and turns them in at the bank. Collector buys the roll, opens it, and finds... circulated halves? On the other hand: Mint strikes coins, dumps them into bags. Bag gets tossed around from truck to truck, possibly shoved around in bank vaults over a period of years, eventually dumped into an automatic coin counter that scrapes each coin through a metal mechanism and shoves it into rolls, which then go out to banks, where a collector buys a roll, opens it, and finds dinged-up, "bag friction"-laden... uncirculated halves?
@jeffB She stated customer wrapped rolls not rolls from the mint that were never opened Oh whatever! Haha
Cool to find all that silver in there. I’ve pulled plenty of unc coins from circulation. Just cause they’ve been touched a couple times doesn’t mean they’re worn
@Brina I think you found a great hoard of silver. It makes no difference how they got to your bank or why they were customer wrapped. All that matters is you found them and now they are yours. Congrats on a nice find.
Duh. The point of my post wasn't to say they're 90% silver. Everyone here knows that. My comment was about the lack of knowledge of that fact among the great unwashed...people who would roll up 64 Kennedys and cash them in for face value at the bank.
Lol Time for another cup of coffee? Or is the rash of trolls? I for one have just about had it with all of them.
