I save any Canadian coins to spend when we go across the border, which is often since we live so close. The local Walmart has a big sign posted at the parking lot entrance stating the exchange rate. (presently 77 cents). Many local businesses depend on Canadian customers for a large portion of their sales. Not to be argumentative but most Canadians are easy to spot: They dress better, weigh less and are more polite than most Americans.
Canadians are easy to spot in Florida, too! They park their $300K RV in shopping center parking lots overnight. Chris
Agreed. But to say that the Canadian coins found in your American coin rolls basically go in the garbage... ie. into the Everglades, one has to wonder why, and then to hear it’s because some folks 40 or 50 years ago put a kink in your jukeboxes, pool tables and cigarette machines with Canadian coins because we are all Canadian cheapskates... lol, well, look at the pot calling the kettle black. Like America nor any American ever screwed anyone over to get a deal.
Canadian coins pass as face in my neck of the woods as well. Paper money is not accepted at banks or business for any purchases.
Here in Moorhead, MN, and Fargo, ND, Canadian coins are not accepted at the bank (although I will sometimes get them in rolls) and will often received them in change at stores. I put them into a little coin pouch that I keep in my car and use it at the post office. Yes, our post office accepts Canadian coins at face value, but not Canadian currency. Steve
People, in general, appreciate and keep what is of value to them, but when the other party is interested in being cheap and forcing another to take their refuse, is not an 'American' thing, it's global and an insult. Otherwise, your 'refuse' is unappreciated and tossed in the sewer. But those that do it are proud of themselves for their scam on others that might be working for a living.
What good is a 12 cent quarter. Would you buy a pizza missing 3 slices. I live in buffalo. We get flooded with canadian coinage. Its only good at the bridge to canada. I have a jug of canada coins. We use them at bars when we play poker. Cops can't arrest us when they see were using cananda money. Fun game
When my friend was down in Florida with his 500k motor home , looking for a place to set up and arriving later in the day they pulled into a large parking lot. The Florida police came and told them that they should stay in the parking lot for the night then look for their place during the day . It is not like they like for freaking Walmart stores . Sometimes Chris there are other reasons people park in those large parking lots and its because of your crime rate , the police told them they would have no trouble there and the reason was for their safety. So next time you think Canadians are to cheap to find a motor home lot maybe think beyond the box for more possible reasons that this is done. The cops told them they patrol the area throughout the night , and they wanted them to not become victim of some gun packing dirt bag looking for a free handout!

Excuses! Excuses! Excuses! I've known plenty of people who use their RV's to travel around the country, and when they plan their trip, they make reservations at RV parks just like you and I might make reservations at a hotel or motel. Chris
