It dosnt look harshly cleaned if it has been cleaned. But that could be the pictures. Id say its XF45. If you can win it at the starting price. You would have done good for yourself IMO.

I'm guessing that the color is a bit off in the images but the coin looks OK to me.

Edited to add: Depending upon the luster, my grade guess would be between XF 40 and XF45.

to me, inexperienced, it does not look cleaned and I base that upon the lack of scuffs and scratches near the high points on the coin, such as around the stars. the scratches are certainly evident on the flat surfaces, but that could simply be wear.

Again, that is my inexperienced opinion. I appreciate the opportunity to learn.

Looks good to me as well. Though I wouldn't pay what they're asking.

Cleaned ? Borderline - hard to say. Seems lusterless, but that could be the lights. I think his grade of XF is pretty good.

This has the look and feel of a legit auction.

Thanks for the replies. I've been looking at a bunch of these trying to pick out a low priced but fairly nice one.

Mark - take another look, in particular the fields. Looks like raised areas and depressions to me. It may well be OK, but I would be suspect based on the pics.

I'm just seeing marks/hits/abrasions from circulation. Nothing about the coin's surfaces/appearance makes me question its authenticity, if that's what you were getting at.

That's what I was getting at. In these pics - but I will defer to your judgement.

I might be mistaken, but am guessing those are some of the areas where there are a lot of hits that appear as small craters, but which are giving the illusion of being raised. The color, details and overall appearance of the coin make me believe it's genuine. But I already know that I make mistakes sometimes.
