(Rockwell) (Brinell) A round indentation goes into the working hub, that is transferred into the die face, but opposite. It’s now raised as far as it was indented. All the coins struck with that raised on the die face end up with a round indentation. The pictures below are a rejected die, an upside down earlobe with the former removal doubling. The reverse has a round indentation at the bottom of Cent-C. The reference of Hardness Tests done on discarded die strikes, by the US Mint is Pete Apple talking to Fred Weinberg on “Better 1956 Lincoln Cent Struck with a defaced die, pictures” on Coin Talk. Though the last picture below looks like a Brinell Hardness Test. It has the ball in the center of the pit.
Not a clue. He appears to be grasping on to isolated pieces of information, taking those bits and pieces out of context, ignoring the application of other relevant information and imagining ways to have that information mean that his coin is a significant discovery. So he is fabricating processes which have no basis in fact. I have advised him to do further research and consult with an English Teacher to review his posts prior to posting for grammar, clarity, and composition.
You’re not a grading company, you don’t have a reason to follow 3rd Party observationalist rules. Out of all the the platforms allowed to develop around the numismatic community, to be able to be useful tools due to what cannot be reached by grading companies.... you chose to abandon them by not adhering to accord conducive.
All you are practicing is rhetoric political refuge for the idea of what is deemed towards the regard of respect towards a government agency....
Bob, I think this implies that you feel we give too much respect to the mint and we try and prevent mint error or varieties being recognized, so that if someone ( like you) finds a new one we deny its existence so the mint looks innocent. That sounds like the contrail clouds conspiracy group that appears on here sometimes. You are welcome to post the coins and your explanations, but other members will reply or refute them also. Jim
