Seems that every time I go to play poker I come away with something interesting relating to this hobby. (Need to play more often, but my friends think I'm a little nuts to look at every piece of money that comes out!!! :) ) Last night was no exception, First was a 1999 $20 star, then a wheat cent in change, and then this 67 quarter.

It's not too often I see a clad coin with rainbow colors. The quarter is quite circulated but the colors are are really different. I have to wonder where this guy has been that caused such toning?

    Anyways I thought I would share :)

That looks really nice, it must have been stashed away for a few years in a ever changing environment of cold and hot and dry and damp.

Maybe he was bluffing all night. Sweaty hands, fiddling with the coin in his pocket......

I'd guess the coin was heated or buried until about eight years ago
and then started circulating again. The light wear before toning is
consistent with a long time in the ground but it's possible that the
light wear as just coincidence as well.

LOL - The problem with a low stakes game is you get caught speeding a lot! All the players know each other well enough to know who play loose.

Hot and cold would certainly describe my hands last night! finished in the money in all three games so I guess it more hot than cold. :)

clad king - why eight years? It must have come from Jim C.'s neck-of-the-woods because the soil around here is more corrosive I believe.

It sure does have some nice toning - thanks for taking a look!

It appears to have about that much wear after whatever caused the toning.

Poker always tends to be a roller coaster ride for me as well. Hot in the beginning, dead in the end. Or I fold almost every hand and kill it in the last five.

    Neat quarter though.
