Does the fact a coin dealer is bald or not bald have any influence on whether (you feel) this is a dealer you can trust and deal with. :hatch::hatch::hatch: Some people equate baldness with elder knowledge and some equate hair with a 'slick shyster' type of newcomer dealer. What are your thoughts? Take care Ben
I am not a coin dealer, but I hope the theory is not true because my hairline in quickly receeding and hope I am not judged by it. (I have a bad enough complex now)
I actually don't think the hair thing matters to me, although I may be biased as I used to wear my hair longer. I usually judge a coin dealer, or any other salesman for that matter, by the way I am treated. If I am treated like a human being they could have hair down to their butt or be bald as a cueball and I would not care. Respect and fair dealling are far more important to me.
I agree with Vipergts2, respect and fair dealing are most important. Vipergts2, you say your hair is receeding. My father used to say his hair was retreating. :mouth: Unfortunately, mine is too. Jack
My Grand father is pretty bald but my dad was not so much. I thought I had a chance of keeping my hair, but evidently baldness in our family skips a generation. On the bright side it's not very grey yet.
In our culture, we equate wisdom and honesty to long white beards.... I'd TOTALLY buy a coin AND a sword from him! :mouth:
I've never really thought about it before, but now that you mention it, I would have to say that I have received better deals in the past from dealers with hair than without. Maybe baldness is a sign of cunningness?
Um............. I guess that each year I have less and less tendency to trust people with hair. My opinions often reflect what I see in the mirror.
Bingo for hobo and treashunt. So ditto here - a little more goes each year. As for dealers - well the ones I know all have hair and as far as I know they are honest.
I got my hair, just hope I can keep it. Never thought of hair as a sign of a trustworthy dealer, hmmmm. Phoenix
