I have attached photographs of front/back of this 1973 D Penny I found in some old change buckets that I'm sorting through. The "L" in Liberty appears to be off centered. Any advice on value of this coin and if it is an error? Thanks!
I'm not an error expert by any means, but this sort of thing is usually just the result of worn dies and don't really have much collector demand or value.
Hi Patrick! If your are as young as you say, you are an early starter!! Keep picking up as many coins as you can and in time, you will be an experienced collector and will have learned many things from the forum. Most of us are very welcoming to newcomers, so bare with some of us oldtimer's Jim
...but this is the famous "tiny L" cent. Gotta be worth more than FV! (Sorry, all the you toobers are getting to me...Spark)
I found a 1973 d lincoln cent that has a misplaced mint mark. I havent found any information on this type of variety and was wondering if as anyone here could help me out ? I've been collecting for some time and have a fair bit of knowledge yet pale still in comparison to real authorities on the matter. Any help is appreciated.
No need for better pics. Back then mint marks were struck into the dies by hand. There is no given spot for them except somewhere under the date.
