MS 64 ...the obverse fields are relatively clean but there are some hits on the reverse and on the obverse (neck/cheek areas)
I would also have to say MS-64 because it is a really nice coin but has those light blemishes on the reverse.
hmmm Color is very distracting I mean wonderful - but it looks like an AU58 in my eyes. The breast and the neck are just too much for me to overlook
My initial reaction to the photos without blowing them up was gem, maybe premium gem. Then I clicked on the photo that opens to a ridiculous size and the marks make it look like an MS63. I’m going to lean towards my first impression but say MS64+ because there is just too much chatter in the focal areas to warrant a gem grade.
I'm in the same boat at Lehigh, at first I said 65 with a softer strike. I want to say 63 but I'm giving it the benefit and saying MS 64!
I thought I had a picture of the slab, but I don't. PCGS graded it MS63, and you're right, @Dave Waterstraat- it's a special kind of 63.
I agree with the 63 grade, but it is a very attractive 63. The eye appeal is top of the charts, with attractive toning. The technical grade is correct, based on the number of bag marks.
