No, I don't have any idea how long NCS might take to respond. That is why I was surprised that you posted as if you were certain you'd have an answer the following day. But then again, you don't seem to let a lack of facts or information stop you from saying whatever you feel like saying.

And you have misspoken, yet again, this time accusing me of not being "forthcoming". I last worked at NGC in early 1998, before NCS was even formed, so my previous work there had nothing to do with NCS. Additionally, in my second post to this very thread, I mentioned my previous work at NGC:
This is officially my last reply to anything you write.

You are correct! I missed that. This is no different than me mixing up grading companies/dealers, with the counterfeit Hong Kong Trade Dollar article, which I haven't found and probably won't. I need to learn to get my bits and pieces of facts re-confirmed before I write something, so as to not cause this kind of problem again (aka: C.R.S.).

If you want to be mad at me for another honest mistake (aka: stupid mistake), I wouldn't blame you (and I have repeatedly said I do make mistakes and will continue to make mistakes, just like the title of this post which I should have made it more of a question rather than a statement) but I would prefer to see if we can't become more civilized with this discussion and I will be the first to do that, since I am the one that started this mess.

Again, I appologize for what I said and I hope we can some day be friends, when you stop being mad at me for all of my screw-ups.

I will post NCS's response the second I get it, no matter which way it goes.

I also posted 2 questions on their message boards (1 each - NCS & PMG) and noticed the average timeframe for a reply is 3 to 10 days. That makes me wonder about sending coins to them. Now I can see why Mark questioned me getting a reply by yesterday. They don't seem to be timely on replying.

I'll post it as soon as they get around to replying.

    Why not call them?

Idhair did that but they sent in a coin, I didn't. I sent in 2 requests for information (1 each NCS & PMG) so I have to wait. I don't think that's very professional but I don't know what's going on at their end so I'll wait patiently and keep watching the Boards/Email for a reply.

What differents does it make if you sent in a coin or not???

One - I'm not doing business with them (paying them money)

Two - What reference do I have to give them? I sent a email? I posted questions? How do they find that/those and who does the finding? The person that answers the phone or someone else?

If I sent something in for grading or other services, I'd have merit for calling them, plus a good reference, but I don't think this merits a phone call especially since I've been thinking of using them for several items I need conserved/graded/slabbed (one depends on PMG's answer to my question) and I don't want to pee them off by being pushy on the questions I've posted to them. They're probably busy and that's why I haven't received an answer yet to my two emails and two posts.

    Toad,
Sorry---but that is about the funniest reason I've ever heard for not calling a company.
If you have a question about something that a company offers why should you have to pay money to them before you can ask them a question? What references do you have??....well I thought that this whole thread started because you thought a coin in a NCS slab was fake....so you would give them a link to the auction.

A phone call gets the question answered much faster in most cases---if the person is on the phone she/he might not have time to check such things as forums---somedays I don't have time to check CT.
So call them and then you get a faster answer.

If I understand you right--you think that to get service you have to send in something, and then that will mean that you are an ok guy and then will jump to serve you.....guess again.
Again---why do you need a good reference...they aren't going to ask who you are....and even if you were the President of the local coin club---they could care less.
All the more reason you should call and ask questions. BEFORE you use a company you need to check them out, call and ask questions if you have any and see how they act.
Also----if you think that they would get mad and so they wouldn't do a good job when you send in coins---you really need to think twice. Like I said above---they could care less who you are....and when someone sends in a coin the graders and such do NOT know who sent it in....

Maybe I read too much into your post---and if so....sorry....but I think you have a wrong idea on how the grading companies work.

onomatopeoia is spelled onomatopoeia. But the first one sounds more like a toad - literally. The LMAO @ spelling was referring to the pronunciation of how it would sound, with the given spelling.

I didn't get them called today so if I don't have an answer by Monday morning, I'll call when I break for lunch.

Ps: It's almost midnight here and I'm still at work. Hopefully it'll be an uneventful weekend and I'll get some rest. Good-night CT! :hail:

Actually, it was Mark Twain that said that...

or was it Samuel Langhorne Clemens???

While I credit this quote to Abraham Lincoln, others to Mark Twain, and others to Samuel Johnson (apocryphally) , and even more often credited are George Eliot, Groucho Marx, Albert Einstein, and a mysterious figure named Silvan Engel. It evidently is much, much older than all of these, and they are probably paraphrasing from Scriptures, or repeating an old adage.

See Proverbs 17:28 in the Míshlê Shlomoh in the Tanakh.

"Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding."

I know that this might sound odd....but there is a page on their site called....Contact Us :D :D
    http://www.ncscoin.com/contact/contact_us.asp

It has the phone number on that....in fact....every page on their site has their phone number....on the bottom right hand side.
