I asked since it’s a $5 gold coin being offered at 50% off, can I buy them for $2.50?

    They were NOT amused.

Buy one. Take it to the pawnshop. With the money gained from that sale, go and buy 50 of them. Rise repeat, millionaire in no time.

With gold on the rise, why would anyone discount the price unless the price were already highly inflated?

If the coin is advertised on the internet, it must be legit. Right?

At that price it must be made of gold painted lead. If would make a nice but costly fishing weight. But hey, you can buy 8 of them and get 20% off.

Visited their website for kicks. Clearly Chinese junk, but nowhere do they declare the coins are fake (shame on them). This quote on the home page made coffee come out my nose.

I could really build an impressive looking collection if I just bought from overseas!!

The second picture of the obverse has the luster of a Matte Proof and the sharpness of a polished coin. I don't think that it has even seen the inside of the third Philadelphia Mint where the original coins were struck.

...who is violating both the HPA and eBay's policy. I'm sure eBay will hop right on that.  :rage: :banghead:

Might be violating ebay policy, I'm not sure about that, but he is in compliance with the HPA, assuming you get a piece like the one in the picture. It DOES have COPY stamped in the feathers of the headdress.

Guilty of not clicking through the link. I assumed "the same coin" meant the same unmarked copy -- but, AFAIK, eBay policy still bans even marked copies. Allegedly.
