There's no point. They will make a billion of them. It's not a special limited issue. And before 2026 rolls around they will find a reason to delay or discontinue it anyway. I mean if you are going to keep one of the first ones in a safe deposit box for 100 years for your family, OK w/e. People who need one of every denomination and Fed district will save them. To me, it's twenty dollars. I can see one every day when I am using them to buy things, or receive them in change when I break a larger bill. We need to bring back the 1000 dollar bill.
Yes, and the $500 note, as well. I would expect a 250th Anniversary of Independence theme on the back of a banknote on at least one denomination instead of Harriet Tubman on the face of the $20.
I won’t be collecting it, as I strongly oppose the redesign. As onecenter said, we need a commemorative note to honour a quarter of a millennium since the birth of our nation, and bring everyone together as Americans, not divide them with a debatable redesign.
Of course, the current design doesn't "divide" us at all. Nor generate any debate. Me, I'll collect them whenever I'm owed $20 or more in change for a purchase. That's about it. Like @Michael K said, they'll print them by the billions, and at this point $20 is pocket change.
While the current design wasn’t touched for 14 years there wasn’t any debate. Also, $20 being “pocket change” is a very relative perspective.
That would be a big no, i am fine with a coin but not on paper money especially that is used everyday, i hope they kill the design change Before issue.
I don't want to have them in my hand or my wallet. Why on earth would I want to collect them? There are so many better things to collect.
The $20 bill redesign is a bunch of PC hooey that gives people a chance to preen themselves as sensitive. 2026 would be a great year to strip people off our coins and bills and restore Liberty to her rightful place.
How about just changing all the backs of the bills and leaving the front alone to new or old beautiful works of art you know like women or Indians or buffalos or landscapes flags something nice. Putting something that is controversial on the money for controversial sake is just reactionary and disappointing.
Let me put it this way. If I can't say I don't like them without being called a racist and a misogynist for it, I like them. Otherwise, I don't like them.
It would be shameful if anyone rejected Harriet Tubman banknotes on racial grounds. Native American "Indian" money doesn't seem to cause any problems - unless I am not aware of any such problems.
