I would bet on the 2018 silver being worth more 2018 5 pc silver quarter proof set mintage is 74874 according to redbook, the 10 pc silver proof set 308k. was watching ebay, the 2019 everyone seems to want the w cents, I would guess these are going to be high production numbers for silver proof sets. you can buy the silver 5 pc quarter sets rite now last I checked 19 something free shipping. over an ounce of silver.

The first year of something and the last year of something are typically heavily saved and therefore neither will likely appreciate much.

If given the choice between the two, I would take the 2019 simply because it has more intrinsic value.

It’s ok. I was able to figure it out based on knowing the weight of the Quarter, so you were actually really helpful!

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

If the fact that an item is the ‘last of its kind’ goes under the radar, which this might, that can be a factor. However, as coin collectors, we know that coins like this, are a losing proposition. At least within our lifetime, lol.

Really... so when were the coins at least 90% silver? So this means they could be anywhere from 90% to like 99%?

I think the really valuable ones are gonna be where a 90% planchet slips into the bin with the 99% ones! Kinda like the 1965 90% silver dimes and quarters! Probably be hard to tell and plus with the amount of care that goes into reassuring proof coins are minted correctly without error might never happen.

They have ALWAYS been at least 90%, the law has just recently been modified.

Anything .900 fine or better complies with the new standard. :)

So before the new law, coins were .900 strictly? Or could they have been .900-.999 all along? Sorry for the confusion.

I'm curious as to why you want to know the weights. I don't mean this in any other way than a friendly curiosity.

Coin silver...look it up. 90%. Now the mint wants to treat their non-bullion coins as if their bullion. Morons.

The 2019 edition would not have the weights because it came out in early 2018 before the law changing the weights was passed. The 2020 issue was compiled in late 2018 before the new .999 fine coins came out so there is a good chance it would not have the weights either. They probably will be in the 2021 edition next April.

I guess the best source will be the COA. It will list the specifics (weight, diameter, etc.) for each denomination.

The quarter silver 5 pc set(2019) I pointed out earlier, is one heck of a deal. the pure silver or .999 Total weight is 31.715 grams(1.1187137 oz) for the set, silver has come back up some, but the melt value alone for that set today is $17.10 Far less risk than buying clad. and the quality of coins are superb. I would say this is a better buy than bullion eagles?

Claims are that the 2019 Silver Proof set is one-time-only. I bought two of the JFKs, one already certified, the other raw.

I thought just the 1/2, 1/4 and 1/10 were silver. You are saying the 1/5 is silver?
