    You might do well to post this find in the 'ancients' section, as most of us coin geeks in 'chat' don't indulge in ancients.

    I will take a stab in the dark and guess that it is Britannia, seated with her shield at her side and holding a trident ;)

    This is a coin of George III (the mad one) and depending on size could be a penny, tuppence or ha'penny. What is the diameter or weight?

    From what I see I suspect a Virginia halfpenny. It's not a british farthing, or half penny. It has a beaded border not denticals, and the Gearge III penny and Two pence has a completely different bust (frankly so do the farthing and halfpenny)
